About me…
I am a California Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT138119) with a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University: Los Angeles. I specialized in LGBT Affirmative Therapy, and take great pride in my ability to approach queer issues through a lens of positivity and validation.
My professional journey led me through a formative pre-degree traineeship at APLA Health, which is an organization renowned for its pioneering of HIV-related care since the onset of the AIDS epidemic. I continue to enrich my work at Amend Treatment, a residential facility for people facing difficult mental health conditions that require residential care. I am a primary and family therapist at Amend, and enjoy contributing to such a healing community. In private practice, I work with families, couples, and individuals on a variety of issues. Employing a depth (psychoanalytic) approach, I am committed to uncovering the underlying origins of relational patterns and emotional pain, but I remain open to integrating various modalities to suit the distinctive needs of each client. In addition to more traditional talk therapies, I have basic training in EMDR from an EMDRIA-approved training site. Please read more about EMDR here.
My journey into the field of psychotherapy was enhanced by over a decade of work as a producer for unscripted television where I spent many hours interviewing people about their lives. I received a Bachelor's degree in Film and Media Studies from the University of California: Santa Barbara, where I developed a profound appreciation for the influential role that film, television, and music play in shaping societal perceptions. I firmly believe that these mediums act as reflective mirrors of human nature, inspiring introspection into the self as well as society.
My personal healing journey through therapy ignited a calling to utilize my skills to empower others. I am driven to provide empathetic guidance and support to individuals navigating their own paths of self-discovery and growth.
